THE LIQUIDATION INJUNCTION

The silence that slammed into the grand ballroom was thick,

heavy, and absolute.

The hundreds of high-society guests who had been drinking corporate-funded champagne just seconds ago froze,

their eyes darting from Christian’s pale face to the diamond band resting on the table. Evelyn’s hand flew to her throat,
her chest heaving as she looked at Avery’s unyielding expression.

“Avery… honey, you’re being hysterical,”
Christian stammered, his voice losing its deep,
commanding tone,
replaced by an unstable,

sharp edge of panic.
He took a step forward,
trying to reach for her hand,

but Avery stepped back,

completely erasing his presence from her space.
“The stress of the final trimester…

you’re misinterpreting a private joke between business partners.

Let’s go back to the private suite and discuss this like a family.”

“We are not a family, Christian.
We are a default liability,”
Avery replied,
her voice smooth,

low, and terrifyingly calm.

She adjusted the hem of her floral dress,

her posture commanding the entire room.

Before Christian could find his voice to respond,
the heavy glass double doors of the ballroom foyer hummed and opened.
Synchronized,

heavy combat boots pounded down the marble corridor.

Four Federal Asset Enforcement Officers accompanied by Harrison,

the Chief Corporate Counsel for the Montgomery Trust,

entered the hall,

their gold badges reflecting the light of the chandeliers.
They carried a stack of leather portfolios stamped with the official federal court seal.

“Christian Vance,”

Harrison announced,

his voice booming across the silent room.

“The emergency injunction has been signed by the state judge as of 8:15 PM tonight.

Your proxy rights to the Montgomery Infrastructure Fund have been permanently revoked under the material fraud

and bad-faith concealment clauses of your marital contract.”

Christian felt a cold sweat break out along his neck,

ruining his immaculate grooming.

“Harrison, what the hell are you talking about?

I am the managing director of that fund!

The board approved my operational expansion three days ago!”

“The board approved a manager, Christian.

Not an owner,”

Harrison countered,
sliding a certified ledger onto the marble table,

right next to the discarded wedding ring.
“Your father’s original trust charter states that the fifty-million-dollar distribution is only accessible if the marital union remains in absolute good faith.

Your tracking devices

and the microphone recordings intercepting your conversation with Miss Sterling five minutes ago have already been verified by the federal district attorney.”

Evelyn shrieked,

her silver gown rustling as she tried to back away into the crowd,

but a female officer blocked her path,

pulling a pair of steel handcuffs from her utility belt.

“Evelyn Sterling,

you are under arrest for conspiracy to commit asset stripping and corporate espionage.”

The crowd of socialites began to whisper loudly,

the judgment shifting instantly.
They didn’t look at Christian with admiration anymore.
They looked at him like a legal corpse that

was about to be liquidated from the market.

“Avery, please!”

Christian roared,
dropping his corporate mask completely
as his face turned a furious shade of purple.

He fell to his knees on the polished marble floor,

his expensive tuxedo jacket brushing against her shoes.

“Think about our child!

If you pull the funding now,

Vance Global goes into bankruptcy by tomorrow morning!

I’ll lose the penthouse!

I’ll lose my seat!”

“You lost your seat the moment you mistook my silence for blindness, Christian,”

Avery whispered, her words cutting through his desperation like a scalpel.
“You didn’t want a wife.

You wanted a surrogate container for an estate check.

You get to watch your empire clear its accounts from a federal cell.”

PART 3: REAPING THE SEED CAPITAL

The morning sun rose over the glass pillars of the Vance Corporate Headquarters,

but inside the executive suite,

the execution was finalized.

Christian sat in his leather chair,

his hands locked in steel cuffs behind his back,

his sharp tuxedo now wrinkled and stained.
His hair was messy,

his eyes bloodshot with a lack of sleep.

Across from him stood Harrison,

who was systematically packing Christian’s personal belongings into cheap cardboard boxes.

“The federal marshals have finalized the freeze on your personal portfolio, Mr. Vance,” Harrison stated,

his voice flat, military-grade,

and completely devoid of sympathy.

“The default requires the immediate forfeiture of your Park Avenue penthouse,

the Hamptons estate, and the corporate vehicles.

Your net worth is officially registered as zero.”

Christian looked up,

his jaw clenching as the door to the office opened.

Avery walked into the boardroom,

wearing a sharp, tailored black wool business suit.

No floral print. No tears. She looked like a Chairman who had just completed a hostile, bloodless takeover of a rival firm.

Her pregnancy was prominent,
but her movements were powerful,

and entirely in control.

“I didn’t leave you with nothing, Christian,”
Avery said,

leaning over the glass table,

her dark eyes locking onto his trembling frame.

“I left you with the exact same amount of capital you brought into this marriage four years ago: zero.

Your father’s debts to the bank have been called in full by my trust.

You thought because you wore the suits and spoke at the board dinners,

you owned the legacy.

You were just a temporary manager.

And your contract is terminated.”

The two federal officers grabbed Christian by his arms,

hoisting him up from the chair and leading him toward the service elevator at the back of the suite.

He didn’t shout.

He didn’t curse.

The sheer, suffocating finality of his public ruin left him completely hollow.

His name was erased from the building directory before his feet even touched the street level.

Avery turned to Harrison,

her face returning to its default mask of stoic authority.

“Schedule the emergency board meeting for 9:30 AM.

We need to reappoint the division heads who were loyal to my father’s memory.

And Harrison…

transfer the title of the penthouse to the child’s nursery fund.”

“Right away, Chairman,”

Harrison replied,

bowing his head respectfully.

Avery walked over to the massive windows,

looking out over the sprawling Manhattan skyline below.

She placed her hands back on her stomach,

her breathing deep and even.

The wolves had been hunted out of her house.

The true sovereign was back on her throne,

and the foundation of her child’s future was finally clean.
