Chapter 45 - The Golden Crest

|

Late that night, after the impromptu gathering in The Vault had concluded and her team had gone home to rest, Sienna found herself walking alone through the grand lobby of the St. Moritz.

The last guests had departed for their rooms, and the grand chandeliers were dimmed to a soft, majestic glow. The hotel settled into a peaceful, breathing quiet, the kind of silence that only exists in buildings possessing a true soul.

Sienna’s heels made a soft, rhythmic sound against the white marble floor. She walked slowly, absorbing the serene beauty of the space she had fought so desperately to protect.

She stopped in the very center of the lobby, looking down at her feet.

There, gleaming with a warm, polished glow, was the large, golden "SM" crest inlaid into the marble floor.

She remembered the feeling of being pressed against this very stone months ago—the sharp sting of cruelty, the suffocating atmosphere of fear that had once infected every corner of this building. She had stood on this crest when she felt the most powerless, and she had stood here again when she faced down Julian Thorne.

It had been a battlefield. Now, it was a monument to grace.

She had chosen to use her power not for revenge or destruction, but to restore human dignity, to empower her staff, and to protect the history that made the St. Moritz extraordinary.

A soft set of footsteps approached from the shadows near the front desk. Victoria walked up, stopping a respectful distance away, looking down at the golden emblem beside Sienna.

They stood in quiet solidarity, the unspoken understanding of everything they had survived hanging in the peaceful air.

"It really is a beautiful crest," Victoria murmured softly, breaking the silence without shattering the peace.

Sienna looked at her former adversary, then out through the grand glass doors at the quiet city street outside, where the first warm light of dawn was just beginning to illuminate the horizon, signaling the start of a brand new day.

"It's not just a crest, Victoria," Sienna said gently, her gray-green eyes peaceful, victorious, and entirely whole. "It's a promise."

And as the morning sun streamed through the high glass windows, bathing the golden emblem and the two women in a warm, brilliant light, the promise of the St. Moritz Hotel stood firm—unbroken, enduring, and built on a foundation of respect that no amount of pride or power could ever shake again.
