Part 2 : The Ugly Truth - Penniless and Broken

Adrian furrowed his brows, snatching the file. "What is this?"

"A paternity test," I replied calmly. "For the baby girl I gave birth to a month ago. She is yours, Adrian. The very child you and your mother called me 'barren' over just to have an excuse for a divorce."

Gasps erupted from the wedding guests. Adrian’s face turned pale as he frantically flipped through the pages. The bold, red stamp reading "PATERNITY TEST: POSITIVE" stared right back at him.

"Mia... this... how..." Adrian stammered, looking back and forth between me and the paper, regret and shock washing over him.

"But that's not all," I turned my gaze to Celeste, whose face was now completely drained of color. "Darling Celeste here probably told you that the baby in her womb belongs to you, right?"

I pulled a second envelope from the briefcase and threw it squarely at Celeste's chest. Photos scattered all over the polished floor. They were crystal-clear pictures of Celeste getting intimate with Adrian’s personal chauffeur, accompanied by the real medical records showing she had faked her pregnancy timeline to trap Adrian.

"You wanted a family so badly, Adrian," I laughed coldly. "Too bad you abandoned your only biological child, and marched a stranger's baby right to your altar."

The crowd went wild with murmurs and whispers. Adrian’s mother looked like she was about to faint. Adrian spun around, grabbing Celeste's arm, roaring, "You lied to me?!"

The elegant ballroom had devolved into a screaming match. But my grand finale wasn't over yet.

"Adrian, don't waste your energy being angry at her," I interrupted his shouting. "Because the two of you are going to have plenty of time to talk it out. In prison."

I handed him the final set of documents—the forensic audit.

"Celeste used your corporate accounts to help embezzle and steal my mother’s inheritance. We are talking about five million dollars. And since you are the legal representative who signed off on those financial statements, you are her primary accomplice."

Right on cue, the distant wail of police sirens grew deafening outside the venue. Three police officers marched straight into the ballroom, heading directly for the bride and groom.

"Adrian Vale and Celeste Brooks, you are under arrest for grand larceny and financial fraud."

The cold steel of handcuffs clicked tightly around the wrists of the two traitors on their own wedding day. Adrian looked at me with begging, tearful eyes, pleading, "Mia, please... the baby... let me see my daughter..."

I took a step back, looking down at him with utter contempt.

"The child carries my name. She has no father named Adrian. You wanted to watch a happy family? Watch me raise her into greatness from your prison cell."

I turned on my heels, the sharp click of my stilettos echoing through the chaotic room as I walked out with my head held high. My car rolled away from the venue, heading straight toward the hospital—where my little angel was waiting.

The sweetest revenge wasn't just destroying them; it was living a brilliant life they could never touch.
