Six months later, the courtroom was silent.
Ryan sat beside his attorney.
Linda no longer looked confident.
Medical evidence.
Photographs.
Witness testimony.
Phone records.
Everything pointed to the same truth.
Emily took the stand.
She spoke calmly.
She never looked at Ryan.
"I stayed because I wanted my baby to have a family."
She paused.
"Then I realized my baby deserved a safe one."
The jury deliberated for less than three hours.
Ryan was found guilty on multiple charges, including aggravated domestic battery.
Linda was convicted of witness intimidation and obstruction after investigators proved she repeatedly pressured Emily to lie.
As deputies led Ryan away, he turned toward Emily.
