PART 2 — The Evidence He Never Expected

Damian didn't say a word.

He just stared at the phone in Elena's hand.

The recording.

The hidden camera.

The proof.

Everything he thought he controlled was suddenly slipping away.

"Elena..." he said quietly.

"You don't understand."

She looked at him.

Her expression was colder than anything he had ever seen.

"No."

"I understand exactly."

"You spent months making my children afraid of you."

Damian shook his head.

"I was trying to discipline them."

Elena almost laughed.

"Discipline?"

She pointed toward the basement.

"My eight-year-old daughter was protecting her brothers from you."

Her voice cracked.

"Do you have any idea what that means?"

Damian looked away.

For the first time...

He didn't look like a powerful businessman.

He looked like a man who had been caught.

The police arrived before sunrise.

Elena didn't want revenge.

She wanted facts.

She wanted her children protected.

The officers documented everything.

The locked basement.

The temperature.

The children's statements.

The hidden camera footage.

Every detail mattered.

One officer approached Elena carefully.

"Mrs. Vasquez..."

"We found something unusual."

He handed her a folder.

Inside were printed emails.

School records.

And a letter from a family counselor.

Elena frowned.

"What is this?"

The officer hesitated.

"Your husband contacted a counselor three months ago."

Her fingers tightened around the papers.

"For what?"

The officer looked down.

"He was asking about obtaining full custody of the children."

The room became silent.

Elena slowly looked toward Damian.

"You were planning this?"

Damian immediately stepped forward.

"No."

"That isn't what it looks like."

She stared at him.

"Then explain."

He opened his mouth.

May you like

Nothing came out.

Because there was no explanation.
