Chapter 15 - The Dawn of Forever

The sun rose over the city, casting a golden, amber glow across the skyline of our newly renovated neighborhood.

Inside our cozy, sunlit two-bedroom apartment, the smell of fresh pancakes and brewed coffee filled the air. I stood in front of the full-length mirror in my hallway, smoothing down a sharp, professional navy blue blazer over my dress.

A tiny pair of little arms wrapped tightly around my legs.

I looked down. Leo, now nearly three years old, was standing there in miniature blue overalls, looking up at me with big, bright, curious eyes, holding up a plastic toy gavel.

“Mama go work?” Leo asked, tilting his head with a cheeky grin.

I knelt down, pulling him into a warm, fierce embrace, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.

“Mama is going to change the world, buddy,” I whispered, smiling against his soft hair. “And then we’re going to the park for ice cream. Deal?”

“Deal!” Leo cheered, pumping his toy gavel into the air like a tiny judge.

We walked out the front door together, locking it securely behind us, and stepped down the hallway toward the elevator. The past—the hospital room, the slaps, the forged guardianship papers, the court battles, and the towering empire of the Storm family—was nothing more than a distant memory written in the ashes of history.

Margaret Storm was sitting in a federal prison cell reflecting on a life of empty greed; Daniel was a ghost fading into obscurity; and the Storm legacy had been erased from the annals of power.

In their place stood something far stronger, far brighter, and entirely unbreakable: a mother and her son, walking hand-in-hand toward a future built entirely on courage, justice, and unconditional love.

The elevator doors opened, and we stepped inside, ready for the rest of our lives.
