Chapter 3: The Collapse of a Kingdom

The room fell into an agonizing, suffocating silence. Even the wind whistling through the window cracks could be heard perfectly.

The smile on Lorena’s lips froze entirely. Her eyes widened, her pupils contracting in sheer horror. The color drained from her face, and her facial muscles twitched uncontrollably.
"What... what nonsense are you talking about? You’re slandering me!" Lorena stammered, her usual sharp tone completely shattered.
"Slandering you?" Marcus let out a bitter, mocking laugh. He ripped open the folder, pulled out the DNA test results, and threw them straight at Lorena’s face. The white papers fluttered through the air before landing on the plates of warm, fragrant food.
"Take a look for yourself! Paternity tests for all three! The oldest belongs to your former bank manager, and the twins belong to the personal trainer you always claimed was just a 'close friend'!" Marcus roared, his voice tearing through the fake elegance of the house. "You’ve lied to me for seven years! You used my money, lived in my house to raise your bastards, while you treated my daughter like a servant?!"

Lorena dropped to her knees on the floor, her hands shaking violently as she picked up the papers. The words "Probability of Paternity: 0%" stared back at her, stamped with the red seal of the city's most prestigious forensic laboratory. The perfect lie she had painstakingly built for nearly a decade had collapsed in a single second.
Lorena’s three children began to wail in terror. They didn't fully understand Marcus's words, but they understood that their life of luxury had just come to an end.
