Chapter 5: The Enemy Inside His Family
Julian rushed home.
“Martha!”
His mother turned.
She looked confused.
“I didn’t call anyone.”
Julian showed her the picture.
Her face changed.
Because she recognized the man.
“Who is he?”
Martha remained silent.
“Mom.”
Finally, she whispered:
“Your father.”
Julian froze.
“My father died twenty years ago.”
Martha looked down.
“I thought he did.”
The truth came out.
Julian’s father was alive.
And Bianca had found him.
The man who abandoned them years ago.
The man who knew every weakness in their family.
That night, Julian confronted him.
The man smiled.
“You look exactly like me.”
Julian felt nothing.
“You don’t get to say that.”
His father laughed.
“You have no idea what your mother did.”
Julian turned toward Martha.
“What is he talking about?”
Martha’s face filled with pain.
“I wanted to protect you.”
“From what?”
Her voice broke.
“From the truth.”

The lights went out.
The mansion became completely dark.
Then a voice came from upstairs.
Bianca.
“Everyone loves secrets.”
