Part 3: The Greedy Man's Nightmare

A deathly silence fell over the living room. Evelyn trembled as she stepped forward, snatching the tablet from Daniel’s hands. As she processed the official red seals and legal signatures, she nearly dropped it.

"No... this can't be..." Evelyn stammered, looking at her son. "Daniel, what is the meaning of this? You told me this house was in your name?!"

"Mom... I..." Sweat poured down Daniel's face. He truly hadn't known. Three years ago, when we got married, he only knew that an anonymous entity kept pumping capital into his failing business, with the sole condition that he sign a confidential asset management contract. He thought he was a "business prodigy" backed by a mysterious tycoon. He had no idea that tycoon was the very wife he despised.

I took a step forward, confronting Daniel. The wound on my cheek throbbed, but my eyes were fierce with pride.

"This slap," I pointed to my cheek, "will cost you your entire career. Daniel, effective this very second, Vanguard is withdrawing all capital from your company. A freeze order on all accounts will take effect in exactly five minutes."

Ring.

Daniel’s phone rang piercingly in the quiet room. He answered it with shaking hands. On the other end, his assistant’s panicked voice echoed out: "Boss! All company accounts have been frozen! The shareholders are pulling out in droves... Boss, we're bankrupt!"

Daniel collapsed onto the marble floor, his phone slipping from his grip.

I turned my gaze to Evelyn, who was struggling to stand, clinging to the arm of the sofa. "Evelyn, I give you 24 hours to pack your things and get out of my house. Any designer bags, any expensive dresses... if they were bought using the supplementary card under my name, leave them behind. If you don't, the police will be coming for you for grand theft."
