Chapter 6: Catherine’s Desperate Revenge

Having lost her money, her mansion, and her high-society status, Catherine Sterling was reduced to
living in a trash-filled motel on the outskirts of the city. Driven mad by rage, humiliation, and endless
online harassment, she plotted a desperate, psychotic revenge.
"She took everything from me!" Catherine screamed at her reflection in the cracked bathroom mirror.
"My clothes, my money, my reputation! She deserves to die!"
Catherine took her remaining jewelry to a back-alley pawn shop, exchanging it for a cheap,
unregistered handgun and a stolen vehicle. She monitored Clara’s social schedule through tabloid
leaks and learned that Clara was visiting her mother’s memorial park in upstate New York that
afternoon.
At the quiet, misty cemetery, Clara stood alone near a white marble tombstone, holding a bouquet of
fresh white lilies. The air was crisp and cold.
Tires screeched as Catherine’s stolen sedan crashed through the cemetery gates. Catherine leaped out
of the car, her clothes filthy, her eyes wild and bloodshot, pointing the revolver directly at Clara’s
heart.
"Stand still, you bitch!" Catherine screamed, her hands shaking hysterically. "You ruined my life! You
humiliated me in front of the whole world!"
Clara slowly turned around. She didn't run. She didn't scream. Her eyes were completely void of fear.
"You ruined your own life, Catherine," Clara said steadily. "Your greed, your cruelty, and your
arrogance destroyed you. I merely allowed you to face the consequences of your own actions."
"Shut up! Shut up!" Catherine shrieked, pulling the hammer back on the gun. "I’m going to kill you!
Then I’ll find that little bastard child of yours and—"
Before Catherine could finish her threat, Clara stepped forward with terrifying speed. Instead of
cowering, Clara grabbed Catherine’s wrist, twisting it upward with expert precision honed from years
of self-defense training.

A gunshot rang out into the empty sky, shattering the quiet peace of the cemetery. The weapon
clattered onto the cold grass.
