Enzo Costa had been dead for years.
His crimes still went on trial.
Documents from Mayflower exposed officials who had helped him.
Former detectives.
Judges.
Businessmen.
Mave testified about the financial records.
Vincent testified too.
Reporters crowded the courthouse.
One shouted:
“Mr. Costa, are you destroying your father’s legacy?”
Vincent stopped.
Mave expected him to keep walking.
Instead, he turned.
“No.”
Cameras flashed.
“My father destroyed his own legacy.”
Then he entered the courthouse.
That clip spread across the city.
For decades, Costa had meant fear.
Now Vincent was doing something his father considered unforgivable.
Telling the truth publicly.
Mave sat behind him during testimony.
At one point Vincent looked back.
Found her immediately.
Like Leo had joked years earlier.
A tether.
