Chapter 6 - A Billionaire is Born

Two weeks after Adrian’s sentencing, the quiet peace of the Vance estate was shattered at 2:00 AM.
Evelyn woke up to a sudden, violent wave of pain radiating through her lower back.
She didn't scream.
She reached for the bedside tablet, hit the emergency intercom button, and said two words:
"It's time."
Within ninety seconds, two dark SUVs were speeding down the gated driveway of the Vance estate under armed escort.
Arthur Vance sat in the front passenger seat of the lead vehicle, furiously barking orders into his satellite phone.
"I want the top floor of UT Southwestern Medical Center cleared!" Arthur commanded. "I want Dr. Shah standing outside the doors when we arrive. If my daughter experiences a single second of delay, I will buy the hospital and fire the board by sunrise!"
Inside the backseat, Evelyn gripped the leather armrest, breathing steadily through another sharp contraction.
Her father was back in full "Iron Vulture" mode. But beneath his terrifying corporate persona, she could see his hands trembling on his knees.
He was terrified for her.
By 3:15 AM, the private wing of the hospital was entirely locked down.
Security detail guarded every entrance, prohibiting any media cameras or unauthorized personnel from entering.
In the delivery room, Dr. Priya Shah monitored the monitors with a look of extreme focus.
"You're doing incredible, Evelyn," Dr. Shah said warmly. "Heart rate is steady. Dilations are moving fast. Your baby is ready to meet you."
For four hours, Evelyn fought.
She didn't think about Adrian rotting in his prison cell.
She didn't think about Sloane Mercer's disgraced family.
She focused every ounce of her strength on the miraculous life fighting to enter the world.
At 7:04 AM, as the first light of dawn broke over the Dallas horizon, a loud, healthy cry echoed throughout the room.
"It's a boy!" Dr. Shah announced, smiling brightly as she placed the newborn onto Evelyn’s chest.
Evelyn collapsed back against the pillows, tears finally spilling over her cheeks.
He was perfect. Ten fingers, ten toes, a head of dark hair, and bright, curious eyes that blinked against the room's lights.
The door swung open gently.
Arthur Vance stepped inside, his designer jacket off, his silver hair slightly disheveled.
The ruthless billionaire stood frozen near the bed, looking at his new grandson as if gazing at the most valuable treasure on Earth.
"Dad," Evelyn whispered, her voice weak but full of warmth. "Come meet him."
Arthur walked over with slow, hesitant steps.
When Evelyn gently placed the small bundle into his arms, Arthur’s eyes glistened with unshed tears.
"What is his name?" Arthur asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Leo," Evelyn smiled softly. "Leo Arthur Vance."
May you like
Arthur looked down at his grandson, a fiercely protective smile spreading across his face.
"Leo Vance," Arthur murmured softly. "You have your mother's quiet strength. And I will make sure the entire world bows to you."
