Chapter 6 - THE RAID IN PUERTO BANÚS

While Beatriz was being processed into the holding cells at the provincial police station in Marbella, Mateo Cruz and a tactical unit of eight armed officers executed the second phase of our operation across town.

In the exclusive marina district of Puerto Banús, inside the penthouse suite of a luxury high-rise overlooking the docked mega-yachts, Javier de la Vega was celebrating with three associates.

The living room was filled with expensive champagne, cigars, and blueprints for my multi-million-euro commercial resort project in Dubai.

CRASH!

The reinforced oak front door was blown off its hinges by a hydraulic breaching ram.

"POLICÍA NACIONAL! WEAPONS ON THE FLOOR! NOBODY MOVE!"

Tactical operators in dark body armor swarmed the penthouse, laser sights pinning Javier de la Vega against the leather sofa.

Javier dropped his champagne glass, shattering it on the marble floor, his hands flying into the air as his face turned the color of ash.

"What is this?!" Javier shouted, his voice cracking. "This is private property! I am a licensed international commercial consultant!"

Mateo Cruz stepped through the smoke and shattered wood, holding an encrypted digital forensics terminal.

"Good evening, Javier," Mateo said, smiling coldly. "Your partner, Beatriz, surrendered her smartphone and her safe deposit keys forty minutes ago."

Mateo turned the screen toward the disgraced executive.

On the monitor was the complete, unredacted WhatsApp chat archive between Javier and Beatriz, detailing every step of their conspiracy:

Javier (April 2): “Keep the girl exhausted. If she’s tired and terrified, Alejandro won't be able to get clean answers from her on video calls. Once the Gibraltar account hits five hundred thousand, we execute the commercial deed filings.”

Beatriz (April 4): “She cried for an hour this morning because I burned her bear. She’s scrubbing the garage right now. She won't say a word.”

Javier sank onto the sofa, his knees trembling violently, letting out a dry, broken sob as he realized his thirty-year corporate career had just been permanently extinguished.

Inspector Ramos stepped forward, snapping heavy-gauge steel handcuffs over Javier’s wrists.

"Javier de la Vega," Ramos declared. "You are under arrest for Corporate Espionage, Grand Fiduciary Fraud, and Conspiracy to Commit Extortion. You are facing twenty-two years at Alhaurín de la Torre prison."

As the officers dragged Javier out into the flashing blue lights of the marina, Mateo gathered the stolen architectural blueprints from the table, sealed them in an evidence bag, and called my private line.

"The viper's nest is cleared, Alejandro," Mateo reported. "Every stolen document has been recovered."

"Good," I answered. "Now let's rebuild my home."
