Chapter 14 - Reclaiming the Empire

Six months after the trial concluded, the sun rose over a bright, crisp spring morning.
Audrey stood in the newly renovated office of her brand-new firm: Vance & Associates Financial Protection.
Using the millions recovered from the court-ordered liquidation of Julian and Eleanor’s seized assets, Audrey had officially launched a non-profit forensic accounting firm dedicated to helping victims of domestic and financial abuse expose hidden marital assets, recover stolen identities, and regain their financial independence.
Her father, Arthur, walked into the office carrying two hot cups of coffee, setting one on her sleek oak desk.
"You look busy, Director Vance," Arthur smiled warmly.
"We just accepted our twentieth case this month, Dad," Audrey said, a glowing, genuine smile lighting up her face. "A woman whose ex-husband hid their joint savings in offshore crypto accounts. We found the key ledger forty minutes ago."
Arthur looked around the bustling office, where a team of young, talented analysts were working on high-tech workstations.
"I'm proud of you, Audrey," Arthur said softly, his voice thick with emotion. "You took the worst moment of your life and turned it into a shield for hundreds of people."
"I didn't do it alone," Audrey replied, giving her father a warm side-hug. "I had a great teacher."
Her phone buzzed on the desk. A notification popped up from her legal team:
DEED RESTORATION COMPLETE. The townhouse has been officially sold for $1.4 Million. Funds transferred to your primary account.

Audrey looked at the notification, then stepped over to the floor-to-ceiling glass window overlooking the city skyline.
The townhouse, the trauma, and the fear were all in the past now. She had taken back her life, her name, her honor, and her freedom.
