Chapter 15 - The Interception on the Hudson

The final desperate gasp of the defeated Marcone syndicate arrived on a stormy midnight in late November.
A rogue cell of four former enforcers, led by Salvatore Marcone’s youngest nephew, Enzo, attempted to breach the private deep-water logistics pier at the Varrick Terminal in Weehawken, seeking to plant incendiary devices on an outbound container vessel to sabotage the morning trade launch.
Inside the automated command center overlooking the Hudson River, Marcus Brody monitored the high-definition thermal drone feeds.
"Thermal signatures detected at Pier 4," Marcus reported into his tactical headset. "Four hostiles crossing the perimeter fence with commercial demolitions gear."
Gabriel sat at the master console in dark tactical attire, his expression cool, calm, and completely detached.
"Do not engage with lethal force, Marcus," Gabriel ordered calmly. "Activate the automated biometric acoustic suppression grid."
"Grid active," Marcus replied, tapping three keystrokes.
Down on Pier 4, as the four intruders crept between two rows of steel shipping containers, four high-output directional acoustic panels mounted on the gantry cranes flared to life.
A synchronized, ultra-low-frequency harmonic pulse swept across the concrete pier.
The concussive sound waves instantly disoriented the four men, dropping them to their knees in sheer vertigo before they could unholster a weapon or arm a detonator.
Within thirty seconds, ten armed Port Authority police officers and federal agents swept in, securing the suspects in heavy steel handcuffs without a single shot fired.
Gabriel stepped onto the observation balcony, looking down at the flashing blue lights of the police cruisers on the pier below.
Ray Brody walked up beside him, tucking his tactical tablet into his vest. "Clean capture, Boss. All four suspects are in federal custody. The ship clears customs on schedule at dawn."

Gabriel took a deep breath of the cold river air, feeling no anger—only the quiet satisfaction of a man whose defenses were absolute.
"The wolves have no teeth left, Ray," Gabriel murmured softly. "Let the harbor sleep."
